First we take digital scanning pictures instead of impressions because here at Smiles at Reston Town Center our dentists utilize cutting-edge equipment called CAD-CAM scan technology, allowing us to eliminate the entire process of taking impressions for crowns, inlays, onlays, and bridges.
If we need to make impressions, we just take scans of your tooth with the iTero scanner in a matter of minutes, without the sticky gooey mess and hassle of the impressions.
This process makes us very proud. This is the newest type of dental technology in the Northern Virginia area and we were one of the first offices in the Reston area to offer it.
Once the scans of your teeth are captured, they are sent to our laboratory so they can digitally design, customize, and create your crowns precisely and beautifully based upon our dentists detailed, customized prescription.
We use this digital technology to create beautiful, natural-looking crown restorations, paying careful to several factors, including: tooth shape, length, size, the bite, and of course the color.
