We know that a gap between your teeth can be embarrassing and unsightly. Now you can forget about that because the Pleasant Valley Smile Studio cosmetic dentists have the solution for you: dental bridges.
A bridge is a great dental solution for replacing missing teeth and it can be constructed natural-looking materials. There are fixed bridges or a removable bridge. Once our trained dentists evaluate your teeth and gums, we will decide which type of bridge is best suited for your dental needs.
How does a dental bridge work?
An abutment (a connector) is created with the patient’s existing teeth. These teeth are reworked to act as a stable base for the bridge.
Once the abutment is formed, a mold is taken of the area.
The mold is sent to a dental lab where a custom made bridge is built to fit the patient in a way that feels as close to their natural teeth as possible.
While waiting for your permanent bridge, a temporary bridge may be placed in your mouth to protect the abutments and vulnerable gum areas.
The process of getting a bridge is kind of simple. A few appointments are typically needed to get a dental bridge. Our dentists need to prepare the anchor teeth. In order to do this, some of the tooth structure from the teeth on one or both sides of the gap is removed. This allows enough room for the crowns to be placed. Next, we need to make digital scan impressions of your teeth. The scans will be sent to the lab in order to digitally design and create your customized bridge.
In the meantime, you wear a temporary one that we customize for you.
At a subsequent appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed and the new, customized bridge will be placed.
And we’re done! You will be able to laugh loud and smile big. How does that sound?

A dental bridge is a prosthetic device designed to replace one or more missing teeth. It usually consists of artificial teeth held in place by crowns anchored to the neighboring natural teeth or dental implants. The bridge helps restore your smile, improve chewing, and maintain the alignment of your teeth.
With proper care, dental bridges can last anywhere from 5 to 15 years or even longer. Maintaining good oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits, will help extend the life of your bridge.
Getting a dental bridge is typically not painful. Your dentist will numb the area during the preparation and placement to keep you comfortable. Some patients may experience mild sensitivity or soreness afterward, but this usually resolves within a few days.
